Abstract
This study aims to analyze the practices adopted and the difficulties encountered by teachers in the context of online teaching, from the perspective of teachers working in vocational and technological education (VTE). Data was collected through a questionnaire sent to teachers at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG), with the inclusion criterion being active teaching positions at IFMG campuses. Three specific objectives were established for the research: to investigate teaching practices in online education in VTE, to identify the main practices employed by teachers and the difficulties encountered based on their perception. The results indicated that the majority of teachers have basic knowledge of online teaching. However, the main difficulty reported was a lack of adequate training, with many teachers expressing a lack of preparation and training to deal with this mode of instruction. The practices adopted by teachers were generally evaluated positively. However, the main difficulties faced were related to excessive workload, lack of physical contact with students, insufficient training, and limited access to appropriate resources. It was also found that IFMG implemented the Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) program, but in many cases, there was a lack of guidance and support from administrators, as well as reports of teachers lacking knowledge and training. Finally, as a result of this study, an educational product was developed aiming to clarify the main concerns related to the presented topic. This product intends to provide guidance and relevant information that can contribute to improving teaching practices in the context of online education in VTE, aiming to address the identified difficulties and promote better preparation and training for teachers to engage in this mode of instruction.
