Abstract
The existence of several methods for the calculation of solid slabs is very suggestive for the dimensioning of these elements. However, the existence of several methods can cause designers to lose track of which would be the most suitable for certain situations. In view of this, the present work intends to carry out a bibliographic review on the subject and analyze the results of the steel areas calculated through different calculation methodologies, these being through the Marcus, Bares and Czerny tables using requests uniformly distributed in all slab models, varying the type of bonding. The calculations were performed using a spreadsheet designed specifically for this purpose. In general, the results obtained by the Bares method were the most conservative, but they did not differ much from those of Czerny. However, in the Marcus method there were some types of slabs that showed a decrease in steel consumption, which is the case for slabs of type 2A, 3, 4A, 5A, 5B and 6, reaching a difference of up to 82% in the slab type 5A, thus indicating that it is the most economical method, but with very different results from the other two.
