Abstract
This study aims to analyze student assistance policies in the post-secondary technical programs at IFMG – Campus Santa Luzia, during the period from 2019 to 2024, focusing on the academic trajectories of scholarship recipients. The research seeks to understand the relationship between financial aid and the indicators of persistence and success among students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability. To achieve this goal, an applied, qualitative, and exploratory research design was adopted, based on documental analysis and a literature review. Data were collected through the Unified Public Administration System (SUAP) and the records of the Student Assistance Department, considering students enrolled in the post-secondary technical programs in Landscaping and Occupational Safety. The data were processed using basic statistical tools and interpreted through a descriptive-analytical approach. As an educational product, an instructional video about the Student Assistance policy was developed and validated by staff members of the campus. Given the lack of studies on student persistence and success in the field of professional and Technological Education, this research is expected to contribute to the improvement of student assistance policies at IFMG, as well as to the democratization of access to information regarding socioeconomic support programs available to students.
