Abstract
The school is described as a locus of learning, sharing of experiences between students and teachers, students and students, teachers and teachers. On this premise, the teaching role has been discussed by educational theorists, as well as its relationships with the methodology with which they mirror and fulfill their daily role in the classroom. In this premise, traditional teaching has been pointed out as one of the bottlenecks of failure in public education, where the acquisition of knowledge by the student has been occurring through transmission by the teacher, with little student participation in the process, this being the cause, in many cases, the non-incorporation of technological resources into the teaching process. On this premise, the smartphone stands out as one of the technological resources that can make teachers' lives easier in their daily school life, given the large consumption of smartphones by young people today. This work aims to understand the conceptions of teachers at the Federal Institutes of Minas Gerais-IFMG about the use of smartphones as a pedagogical teaching tool and how teachers use them in their pedagogical practices. For this, the research was based on the application of a structured questionnaire with questions, constructed using Google Forms and sent to teachers via the teachers' institutional email. The research results indicate that 100% of the responding teachers, a total of 16 of the total sample, use the smartphone as a mediating resource to teach Biology classes in the Institutes where they work, in the most varied ways, such as sending class materials, QR Codes, sending video lessons, etc. The results of this research will be published in an electronic scientific journal as a way of disseminating the results obtained and as a means of maximizing the results in order to collaborate with the implementation/instigation of the use of smartphones as a methodological resource for teaching work, more frequently in Integrated Secondary Education-EMI, a factor that aims to improve student learning.
