Abstract
The present work proposes to present the experience of implementing the wattle and daub technique, from the elaboration of the intervention project, to the execution of the work on the side facade of the historic single-family building, located in the historic center of the City of Ouro Preto – MG. As it is a property belonging to the City's listed urban complex, simplified renovation projects were drawn up; structural stabilization and diagnosis of the state of conservation, which made it possible to clearly define the execution stages and planning of actions. We present below the design premises, the stages of intervention, the materials adopted, the decision-making during the work, as well as the organization of the site and the challenges of restoration in a historic building located in the urban core, the daily life of the city and the need to fulfill what was planned for the work.
