Abstract
The potato crop (Solanum tuberosum) has significant economic relevance, especially for the industrial sector focused on chips, which seeks tubers with specific attributes, such as dry matter above 20%, more oval shape and no defects to ensure the excellence of the product. final product. The present work aimed to evaluate the productive characteristics of potato clones in order to determine which ones have potential for industry. In the experiment, 22 clones with heat tolerance were evaluated, coming from the Potato Genetic Improvement Program at the Federal University of Lavras (PROBATATA/UFLA) and 2 controls (Atlantic and Asterix). Planting was carried out in the Olericulture Sector of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais – Campus Bambuí, with a spacing of 0.80 m x 0.30 m. The experiment was conducted in the 2023 winter harvest, and the following characters were evaluated: Tuber shape, Eye depth, Specific weight, Dry matter content, and Incidence of defects. The results obtained indicated significant statistical variance in the aspects evaluated. Considering the results found in this work, possible clones with high genetic performance were identified, and, in the general scope of evaluations, the clones that stood out were: CCF31-09; CCF21-03; CCF23-01; CCF02-05; CCF22-10; CCF22-02; CCF21-15; CCF24-13; CCF01-20; CCF25-06; CCF04-16; CCF02-19; CCF01-04; CCF25-08; CCF03-09; CCF14-12; CCF32-04.
