Abstract
The district of Antônio Pereira, located in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, has a rich history linked to gold mining in the XVIII and XIX centuries, evolving into the exploration of minerals such as bauxite, iron, and topaz. Despite being part of Ouro Preto, the lack of public transportation connecting it to the municipality has resulted in Mariana exerting significant influence over the district. The inauguration of the Estrada da Purificação in 2023, connecting Antônio Pereira to the district headquarters, promises transformations and generates expectations for local development. The methodology adopted in the preparation of this subsidy follows the guidelines of IEPHA, with emphasis on the ICMS Cultural program. The Jubileu de Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Lapa, a centuries-old tradition, continues to attract devotees, despite a reduction over the years. The Sanctuary remains a point of interest, drawing visitors and maintaining its cultural relevance. In 2022, the update of the Municipal Inventory emphasizes its historical importance to the region.
