Abstract
Traditional pedagogical practices, in which the student has a passive role and the teacher is the sole transmitter of knowledge, limit innovation in teaching. The model that confines the student to the classroom does not encourage the search for alternatives that diversify learning. Education outside the classroom can be beneficial, providing students with direct contact with content and personal experience.Nonformal education spaces promote flexible, personalized, and accessible learning, in addition to fostering integral development. This study aims to analyze teachers' opinions and experiences regarding the use of non-formal spaces in Geography education. The qualitative research examines how Geography teachers use these spaces and discusses their effectiveness in making classes more dynamics, favoring the association between theory and practice in everyday life. The methodology involved a survey that aimed to understand the opinions of twelve teachers who teach Geography in elementary school. The results show that teachers emphasized that informal spaces offer an opportunity to break with traditional practices, creating a more dynamic and attractive environment for classes. The biggest obstacle to using informal spaces is the lack of resources. Based on this, an easily accessible itinerary is proposed for teachers in the city of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais and the surrounding region.
