Abstract
With technological advances, the construction industry has been directing its efforts towards adopting construction processes that provide cost savings, speed in project execution, and material rationalization. In this context, the precast system emerges as a promising alternative. However, it is emphasized that the manufacturing process of cement artifacts involves procedures and materials that can pose health and safety risks to workers. This study aims to assess the risks present in three distinct cement artifact factories in the mesoregion of West Minas Gerais, through the application of the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) method, supported by technical visits aimed at observing and collecting data on the work environment. The results were obtained individually, covering the main characteristics of each factory, its layout, the results of the PHA, preventive measures, and, finally, the visual representation of risks through risk maps. Five types of occupational risks were identified: physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and accident-related, in the analyzed factories, which were classified according to intensity. Based on the analyses performed, it can be concluded that risk maps, coupled with appropriate preventive measures, have the potential to significantly contribute to the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases throughout the work environment. This is especially relevant for maintaining the health and safety of workers, ensuring a more protected work environment.
