Avaliação das manifestações patólogicas da superfície de pavimentos asfálticos: estudo de caso em Piumhi – MG

The road modal is extremely important in the movement of several elements in Brazil. It is directly linked to the country’s development and, unfortunately, infrastructure expectations are for beyond what is observed in the existing transport matrix. In addition to the high traffic of vehicles, there are aggravating factors such as overloading trucks, lack of stormwater drainage infrastructure and the execution of inadequate projects. All these factors influence the need for periodic maintenance of the pavement, and consequently, to avoid the pathologies resulting from its use. The research aims to analyze the profile and state of the pavement of Avenida Francisco Machado belonging to the MG - 341 state highway, defining its defects, based on the most frequent ones found on Brazilian highways, and investigating the possible causes of these defects. The analysis was carried out starting from the Individual Severity Index (IGI) processed for each type of defect and from the sum of this Index the Global Severity Index (IGG) was found, resulting in a terrible condition of the pavement affecting comfort and safety of road users.
