Abstract
The monitoring of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in industrial environments often relies on static interfaces, limiting agile data interpretation. This work proposes a mobile augmented reality (AR) system designed to generate the visualization of three-dimensional (3D) gauges from a smartphone camera image in real time. The solution integrates an Android application with a Siemens S7-1200 PLC, using cloud database communication. Image processing algorithms run continuously on the camera feed to display 3D gauges (e.g., level, temperature) via visual marker recognition. The system operated with stability and low latency, demonstrating potential to replace traditional interfaces in scenarios requiring portability. Concepts of augmented reality, object-oriented programming, image processing, and IoT were employed.
