Abstract
This article is a critical analysis of the application of the Ubuntu Project, which was carried out by me at the private institution of Bahian industry - Escola Reitor Miguel Calmon, Salvador, Bahia, with the aim of reflecting on racial relations rooted in Salvadoran society. We sought to investigate the effectiveness of a project based on Law 10,639/03 to promote black consciousness among high school students at the institution through lectures on themes related to racism in Brazilian society, workshops related to traits of black culture and conversation circles with themes aimed at contributing to the formation of positive black identities. This article demonstrates how necessary an education that values the contributions of African peoples to our formation, to our history, as well as positively exposes Afro-Brazilian culture, so that identification with sadness, pain, enslavement and inferiority are replaced for self-acceptance of who we are as Afro-Brazilians and happiness for all the cultural legacy left by our ancestors.
