Abstract
Bovine mastitis is one of the main diseases in dairy herds. The disorder is caused by inflammation in the mammary gland due to infectious and non-infectious factors, being the first the most important cause. Mastitis results in economic losses such as the disposal of milk or animal culling, expenses with medications and reduced production longevity. The objective of this work was to evaluate the milk quality parameters of eight properties in Pratinha-MG, according to a Quality Program (PQFL) by dairy factory LD. Milk samples were collected for analysis of CCS, CBT, fat and protein from tank milk, the CMT test was performed to identify positive animals for subclinical mastitis and analysis by Mamitest plate to diagnose which bacterial agents are present in the properties. Among the eight properties studied during the five months of study, high values of CCS were observed, which represents high rates of mastitis, being S. aureus, S. dysgalactiae, S. agalactiae e S. non aureus, the most common bacterial agents in the herd. For control and treatment, an action plan was drawn up for each property, mainly following Good Agricultural Practices, such as black-bottomed mug, pre and post dipping, blitz therapy and disposing of animals when necessary. The adequacy of producers to the new standards brings benefits such as improved value paid for milk, a reduced costs and better quality of raw milk.
