Abstract
Foundations are structures responsible for transmitting loads from the superstructure to the ground. The behavior of the soil occurs according to its properties, when requested by these loads. It is necessary to create tools that assist and optimize the design process given its complexity. Therefore, this work aims to automate the process of dimensioning an isolated footing type foundation. A Excel® computational routine was developed to geometrically and structurally design isolated footing solicited by centered loads and bending moments. For the geometric design, was used the recommendations of NBR 6118: 2014 and 6122: 2019, and for the structural dimensioning, it used the recommendations of the CEB: 1970. The examples from the literature and from the VerifCalc© software was compared to evaluate the reliability of the worksheet results. Finally, it was concluded that although there are small differences between the results, under 10%, and limitations for situations was needed to use the Montoya Abacus, the spreadsheet proved to be satisfactory, giving reliability and security to users.
