Abstract
The research focused on analyzing how high school students develop as literary readers, with a focus on school reading. The State of the Art method was used to investigate and analyze existing research on the teaching of literature, based on a previously defined sample of published works. Thus, the main objective was to find scientific texts on literature teaching practices in high school, and the specific objectives included selecting and analyzing academic works that offered different perspectives on the subject. During the research, four main categories were identified, which appeared in the ten studies analyzed and which manifested themselves in an interleaved and, in some cases, integrated manner. Therefore, the review carried out proved to be important for proposing new discussions and contributing to the advancement of the area, considering previous studies and the need for new approaches.
