Abstract
This paper discusses the factors that influence the implementation of the National School Meals Program (PNAE), according to the experiences and activities carried out at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG). It is projected, to not only accuse the interfering factors, as well as map some actions adopted in order to mitigate the identified challenges, to solidify an effective implementation of PNAE. Describe aspects of the implementation of PNAE in the IFMG, Bambuí Campus, in its relationship with Family Farming (FA) in the region, characterize the FA associated with food production in the microregion of Bambuí, Minas Gerais, rescue the genesis of the implementation of PNAE in the institute, identify probable limiting aspects presented by farmers to adhere to the institute's PNAE and thus propose strategies for adequacy to the requirements, in order to allow an advance in the prospections of the following years. The low performance and little knowledge of the executing entity with and about the local farming explain the low benefit or the little adherence of farmers in the procurement processes. The framework of operationalization and sanitary legal basis will serve to guide family farmers to seek the formalization of their production, according to the competent bodies and the resolutions required in the procurement notice of the Campus. Key words: Family Farmers
