Abstract
Cora Coralina (1889-1985), cook-confectioner-poet, was a woman well ahead of her time. The writer stood out in the poems genre and at the age of 75 published her first book "Poemas dos Becos de Goiás e Estórias Mais", which was the object of study of this research. From this context, the general objective of this work is to identify the regional gastronomic culture from the analysis of the construction of the writer's verses in the aforementioned book. To this end, the specific objectives were to identify the poems related to gastronomy in her first book, to identify the relationship between literature and gastronomy and to ascertain the representativeness of the female figure in the writer's work. The methodology applied was of the bibliographic type of qualitative-quantitative character, with a focus on referential study about regionality, gastronomy, literature and feminine, carried out through the surveys of scientific articles, interviews and reading of books by and about the author. Of the 37 poems contained in the book, 21 referred to food, cooking, agriculture, and livestock. The poems identified with the theme of regional gastronomic culture were divided into three categories: (1) ingredients and utensils, (2) methods of preparation and recipes, and (3) regionality with economic activities. In the poems analyzed, the presence of regional gastronomic culture is notorious, evidenced either by the observations of his daily life with women cooks in the family, verified by the reports of utensils, ingredients and recipes prepared, and also by the reports of regionality with the know-how and economic activities developed in his hometown.
