Abstract
Roads are structures created by man since the time when the concept of society was established. They have as main objectives the connection between two or more points, enabling the transport of people and goods, as well as access to a variety of services, thus being an important tool for modern society. The present work aims to show techniques for maintenance and recovery of the carriageway on unpaved side roads, in addition to presenting a case study carried out in the city of Capitólio - MG, in the region of Ambrósio, in which the methods shown were applied. The research methodology used was a combination of exploratory and descriptive research. As a result, several maintenance and recovery systems for unpaved roads are presented, among which the drainage systems and the adequate conformation of the carriageway stand out. Additionally, possible errors are shown during the execution of the studied intervention, in Capitólio - MG. In conclusion, it can be said that there are several ways to carry out the recovery and maintenance of the local roads and types of problems to which they are subject. In addition, greater investment by the municipal executive power is needed in places with this type of infrastructure.
