Abstract
The relentless pursuit of innovation in the manufacturing industry has led to the development of advanced techniques to enhance thermal efficiency in processes such as aluminum injection molding. In this context, conformal cooling merges to revolutionize the cooling efficiency in aluminum injection moldings, providing significant benefits to the quality and effectiveness of products compared to traditional methods. Conformal coolings tands out for its unique ability to follow the specific geometry of the molded piece, adapting to the contours of the injection mold. Thus, the aim of this study was to provide information on the connection between high-pressure die casting and conformal cooling, highlighting the possibilities offered by this technology in the production of injection mold components. The methodology used was a literature review, selecting studies from the ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, and CAPES databases. The results indicated flexibility in the layout of conformal cooling channels, higher cooling rates for molds, and shorter production cycle times compared to conventional cooling.
