Manual de conservação: Museu do Oratório, antiga Casa do Noviciado e Anexo

The research was to create a Conservation Manual for the Novitiate House and the annex that currently houses the Oratory Museum, located in the churchyard of the Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in the city of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. The aim of the manual is to guide the conservation actions to be carried out on these buildings, as well as providing up-to-date records on their state of conservation. In order to put this proposal into practice, on-site visits were organised, including visits to the library of the Institute of Philosophy, Arts and Culture (IFAC), consultations with the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN), the Casa de Gonzaga archive and the Ouro Preto Tourism Office, to collect data and photographs. The appendix of this manual contains sheets covering elements such as wood, mortar, stonework and complementary materials, which will help facilitate the process of monitoring buildings and documenting the progression and appearance of new pathologies.
