Abstract
Technological advancements and the increasing complexity of work processes have heightened occupational risks, emphasizing the importance of Occupational Safety to protect workers and promote safe working environments. In Brazil, the Regulatory Norms (NRs), established in 1978, represent a milestone in this context, with particular emphasis on NR-10, which governs safety in electrical installations, a high-risk activity across various industrial sectors. This study assessed the compliance of a food industry manufacturing unit with NR-10 requirements, analyzing technical, documentary, and governance aspects related to electrical safety. The assessment identified 11 non-conformities, including the absence of an electrical project, inadequacies in classified areas with explosion risks, and the lack of formal approval of work procedures by qualified professionals. Despite these gaps, a high level of safety was observed, supported by implemented control measures and best practices. The study provides recommendations to address identified deficiencies and strengthen electrical safety management, promoting accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in the work environment. Furthermore, it proposes a structured audit model applicable to other cases, contributing to the creation of safer work environments aligned with regulatory requirements.
