Abstract
Education is understood as a right guaranteed to all people, however people from the LGBTQIA+ community, especially transvestites and transsexuals, are not so easily seen attending the school environment. Data shows that students who do not declare themselves heterosexual, suffer from verbal and physical violence, and still experience situations of moral and sexual harassment in schools. These problems contribute to school dropout rates among the LGBTQIA+ community. This work is justified due to the increased visibility, achievements and demands for rights of the LGBTQIA+ community in Brazil, whether in the areas of health, safety, leisure and especially education. In this way, it is necessary to update both the education professional and the undergraduate student on changes in legislation and bring knowledge about various aspects involving the LGBTQIA+ community, especially those linked to education. The objective of the work was to insert debates on educational policies that effectively include the transversal theme of gender and sexuality in pedagogical subjects of the Physics Degree course, also aiming for application in Biological Sciences and Physical Education courses at the IFMG Bambuí campus. To this end, a Lesson Plan was created with an unconventional methodology that adapted to the curricular syllabuses of the three courses. The lesson plan was prepared with the theme “Debate on the use of bathrooms by transgender people” and applied to the Inclusive Education and Diversity discipline using the mock jury methodology. There was success in the application of the Lesson Plan with the participation of students who considered the way of dialoguing on the topic to be positive, as well as the study of the rights of LGBTQIA+ people in institutional spaces for their training as teachers to be important.
