Abstract
Civil Engineering undergoes a constant evolution in search of new technologies and techniques that increase the work performance of professionals in the area. The present work seeks to compare the existing direct costs in the production of massive slabs of reinforced concrete and unidirectional ribbed slabs (lattice joists with EPS blocks) for different spans, based on the database and spreadsheets provided by SINAPI. The calculations for dimensioning the slabs were performed using preadsheets in Microsoft Excel. The sizing followed the ABNT norms necessary during the development of the work. In this work, the slabs were designed based on the elastic method, where the efforts of the solid slabs were determined with the help of Bares tables. These are a set of tables that facilitate the determination of maximum bending moments and maximum displacements. For the dimensioning of the lattice slabs, the joists were considered as isolated elements, where the forces acting on the joists were those corresponding to their area of operation. The direct cost of the dimensioned slabs was determined with the help of spreadsheets developed in Microsoft Excel, where the compositions and unit cost of the materials were acquired through the spreadsheets made available by SINAPI. During the execution of the work, it was observed a great limitation of options of compositions of lattice slabs in the SINAPI spreadsheets. From the direct cost comparisons carried out in this work, it was possible to observe that the solid slabs had a direct cost of 2.36 to 2.52 times higher than the direct cost of lattice slabs, however, for a fairer and more direct comparison between the types of slabs, a better representation of ribbed slabs in the database presented by SINAPI is needed.
