Abstract
This study investigates the main challenges faced by junior enterprises (JEs) in implementing effective knowledge management practices, a set of practices aimed at the creation, organization, sharing, and application of organizational knowledge, considering their structural characteristics, such as high member turnover, short mandates, and lack of document standardization. The research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach, using semi-structured interviews with current and former members of JEs from the Vertentes Nucleus. The results highlight weaknesses in the formalization of processes, loss of historical information, excessive dependence on tacit knowledge, and difficulties in organizational continuity. Formal and informal knowledge management practices were also identified, although insufficient to guarantee the preservation of institutional memory. The study points to improvement proposals structured around four axes: formalization, co-management, organizational culture, and innovative practices, highlighting the need to consolidate permanent mechanisms that ensure the recording, sharing, and reuse of knowledge, strengthening organizational maturity and guaranteeing greater efficiency for JEs.
