Abstract
The high demand for vegetables and notably lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) requires a great effort to reach consumers with quality and low cost of production. Within this context, the production of seedlings plays a crucial role for the plant to achieve significant results, in this way, must be well nourished and vigorous. The use of alternative fertilizers may be worthy in cultivation, as there is a shortage sustainable agriculture products that play the role of growth promoters. The objective of the experiment was to verify the influence of soybean flouer-meal and eventually to determine the ideal dose to promote the growth and development of lettuce seedlings. In the first stage of the experiment that was implanted and conducted in a greenhouse, six treatments were tested: T1: 0g L-1, T2: 15g L-1, T3: 30g L-1, T5: 60g L-1 and T6: 75g L-1, diluted in water, using a completely randomized design, and six replicates composed of 8 plants, the concentration corresponding to 60g L-1 being the one that obtained higher averages for the parameters Number of leaves, Collection diameter, Fresh matter of the aerial part, Fresh matter of the Root, except for the characteristic Length of the Aerial part that reached higher average in 75g L-1, concluding that the soybean meal has effect in the foliar fertilization of lettuce seedlings. In the second stage of the experiment, new dosages were tested in a completely randomized design with six replicates, so that the ideal dose was adjusted, the treatments being represented by the following concentrations in the T1: 0g L-1, T2: 2.5g L-1 , T3: 5g L-1, T4: 7.5g L-1 and T5: 10g L-1. The concentration of 10g L-1 obtained higher averages for the analyzed parameters Number of leaves, Aerial Part Length, Leaf Width, Fresh Air Matter, Fresh Root Matter, Aerial Dry Matter, Root Dry Matter.
