Abstract
This work presents the development of a didactic platform for the control and supervision of a coupled-tank system, aiming to support practical learning in the Industrial Process Control course of the Control and Automation Engineering program at IFMG Sabará Campus. The proposed solution integrates Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and supervision through the BluePlant software, enabling the implementation and analysis of PID (Proportional-Integral- Derivative) controllers as well as lead and lag compensators. The methodology includes the analysis and modeling of the system in open loop by applying step inputs with different amplitudes and operating points, allowing the identification of the process dynamics. It also covers the design and discretization of controllers using the Tustin method, followed by closed-loop testing with graphical response analysis. The platform is expected to contribute to students' applied learning, providing greater interaction with real systems and direct comparisons between different control strategies, aligning academic training with the demands of Industry 4.0.
