Abstract
Brazil is the world's largest producer of soybeans. Recognizing the crucial role of soy in food security and the national economy, it becomes clear that optimizing production becomes a strategic priority. In this context, seed treatment emerges as an extremely important practice to ensure not only the quality of the stand, but also to enhance agricultural yield. Within this scenario, this study proposes to evaluate the influence of seed treatment with an insecticide based on imidacloprid and thiodicarb, considering different storage periods (0, 30, 60 and 90 days). The experiment was conducted at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG) - Campus Bambuí, adopted a randomized block design, comprising five replications, the soybean cultivar used was A53730 IPRO. The central objective is to analyze how storage time can modulate seed quality. The percentage of seedling emergence (%E), mean emergence time (TM), emergence speed index (IVE), coefficient of temporal variation (CVt), uncertainty index (I) and synchrony index (Z) were evaluated). The period that obtained the best germination percentage was the one with 0 days of storage, being 85%, not statistically different from the others. A high uncertainty index and a low synchrony index were observed, indicating low seed vigor.
