Abstract
This study aimed to develop an adequate nutritional plan for lactating cows in the dairy cattle sector at IFMG Campus Bambuí, in order to meet the nutritional requirements of different animal groups and improve productive performance. Data were collected from the herd, including the number of animals, grouping by production level, milk yield, days in milk, and the composition of the current diet. The analysis revealed nutritional deficiencies, especially in the protein fraction, in the low-production group, heifers, and cows with a history of mastitis. Only the high-production group received a diet close to the recommended requirements. Based on the collected data, dietary reformulations were proposed using the NASEM (2021) model, focusing on adequate levels of protein and energy. The proposed plan aims to optimize feed efficiency, ensure animal welfare, and contribute to the sustainability of the production system.
