Abstract
This work aims analyze the history of brazilian National Institute of Educative Cinema (also known as INCE), as well it has the objective to discusses the representation of brazilian cultural heritage at the set of Humberto Mauro’s cinematography production in the 1950’s, when this mineiro diretor commanded the Tecnical Cinematography Service Departament of INCE. We intend to approach five films directed and realized by Humberto Mauro’s. It will be approached five cities and its respectives cultural heritages through the vision of Humbeto Mauro as director. The paper intends to analyze as well how Mauro’s represented, in his films, cultural intangible manifestations, likewise musics of work, specially in the Brasiliana’s (1945-1964) serie of short films. In that sense, this research avaluates the way INCE (also known as Brazilian National Cinema Institute), created in 1936, and subordinated to MEC ministery (Educational, Health and Cultural Ministery), helps to create a national identity which was part of an ideological and governamental project during the dictatorial government of Getulio Vargas (1937-1945) president, period known as Estado Novo.
