Abstract
This study aims to analyze and optimize the countertop packaging sector of a furniture industry company, seeking to understand the operational challenges faced and develop practical strategies to improve process efficiency. Using a case study methodology, qualitative and quantitative techniques were applied, including quality tools such as flowcharts, Pareto, Ishikawa, and Spaghetti diagrams, and the 5 Whys technique. Data collection was performed through direct observation and timing. Detailed analysis of the production processes supported by these tools identified the main factors that negatively impact production efficiency. Thus, a 5W1H action plan was developed with standardization of procedures, continuous training, establishment of performance indicators, and improvement of logistics management. In addition, a new layout was proposed that reduces the product supply and removal route, estimating an average gain of 27 pieces per day, an increase of approximately 11.64% in productivity. Therefore, the systematic application of quality tools and the preparation of action plans clearly demonstrate how a careful and well-planned approach can identify the causes of complex production problems and direct the implementation of direct and effective actions to mitigate them.
