Abstract
Seed treatment is an excellent option to decrease the incidence of pathogens in the early development of common bean crop. In addition to obtaining high quality seeds, it is important to maintain them, so seed storage should receive special attention. The present work aimed to evaluate the interference of chemical treatment of seeds during storage in an uncontrolled environment. The work was conducted at the seedling nursery of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG) - Bambuí Campus. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with four replications in a 4x3 factorial scheme, with three storage periods: 38; 66 and 94 days and four dosages of the commercial product Cropstar® 0; 0.50; 0.70 and 1.0 L p.c./100 kg of seeds. The following variables were evaluated: Emergency; Emergency Speed Index; Average time; Coefficient of Variation in Time; Uncertainty Index and Emergency Sync Index. The data of the analyzed variables were submitted to analysis of variance and the means of interaction or main effects were compared by Scott Knott test at 5% probability. However, we can conclude that chemically treated seeds could be stored under uncontrolled environmental conditions for up to 94 days, without interfering with their viability.
