Abstract
The afforestation provides benefits of social, economic and environmental order, promoting the improvement of the quality of life of the population in the urban centers. In order to ensure these benefits, it is necessary to plan afforestation, the lack of which can lead to conflicts with the various urban elements, such as the pavement survey and harmful intervention in the electricity and telephone networks. When it is not possible to plan afforestation, it is important, at least, to analyze the existing one. For this reason, the inventory is of great importance because, through its data, it is possible to obtain information on the composition of species and on the problems and conflicts of tree individuals with the urban elements, and these results are the drivers of planning and tree-urban management. In this study, the aim was to carry out an inventory and diagnosis of urban afforestation in the municipality of Bambuí - MG. For this, the entire urban area of the municipality was traversed and all tree individuals, present in the afforestation, that had a diameter at 1,30 m of soil (DAP) equal to or greater than 5 cm were cataloged. The total number of arboreal individuals surveyed was 2,680, belonging to 123 species, of which 117 were identified, distributed in 94 genera and 40 families. The most frequent species were Schinus molle (21.16%), Poincianella pluviosa (16.34%) and Licania tomentosa (10.11%). Conflicts and problems were identified, such as contact with spinning, damage to the pavement, incorrect pruning, inadequate first bifurcation height, dry / hollow branches and sloping / bent trunk. The main recommended actions, suggested for the improvement of the bambuí afforestation, were the pruning and the construction of free area (bed). The analysis of floristic similarity among the neighborhoods indicates a high differentiation regarding the composition of species. Based on the data collected, the urban arborization of Bambuí was considered to be in a good state of development and phytosanitary, however, the distribution of the same in the municipality is unequal, since there is a concentration of afforestation in some neighborhoods, while others have few individuals.
