Abstract
The objective of this work was the in vitro establishment of tree tomatoes testing different concentrations of salts of the MS medium and the effect of dark periods. The establishment was made with seeds obtained from fruits of the region of Medeiros, which were washed, disinfested and inoculated in test tubes. The media used were MS and MS / 2, the dark periods being 0, 5, 10 and 30 days. The experimental design was completely randomized, with 8 treatments with 4 replicates, each repetition consisting of 3 tubes. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and the means of the treatments compared statistically by the Scott Knott test (p0.05), using SISVAR software. The variables analyzed were: IVG (germination speed index), percentage of germination, height of seedlings, number of leaves and number of internodes. It was observed a low percentage of germination, which may be related to some type of dormancy. The dark periods influenced only the germination speed index variable when MS medium was used.
