Abstract
Recently there has been a significant increase by positioning methods based on “Global Navigation Satellite Systems” (GNSS), used as reference for navigation and planimetric survey, since all GNSS applications are related to the coordinate systems used. Google Earth, in turn, is a free geospatial viewer based on web and maintained by Google. In this work, three methods for georeferencing were compared through different technologies; for obtaining spatial data and to determine measurements of enclosed polygonal areas; to evaluate and correct the accuracy of geographic elevation between a Garmin GNSS navigation receiver in relation to orbital images framed through the Google Earth app for positioning quality; taking as reference the survey made by GNSS Geodetic. The use of modern technologies is no guarantee of accuracy, because, for the methods and equipment used here, the desired was to enable a method with simple tools that are available to the farmer, for analysis, planning and management of the farm. To evaluate georeferencing methods, four areas were measured at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais, Bambuí campus (IFMG Bambuí campus) using GARMIN GPSMA 64 receiver equipment, TRIMBLE NET R9 geodetic receiver and Google Earth application. With the result obtained from the data collected in the three planimetric survey methods, it could be observed that the survey made with Google Earth was more accurate than the GNSS Navigation compared to Geodetic GNSS, which has millimeter error.
