PortuJava: uma ferramenta de auxílio a aprendizagem de programação

This paper describes the development of the PortuJava tool, designed to assist programming learning by facilitating the transition from Portugol to Java. Given the gap between the demand for IT professionals and the number of graduates, there is a growing need for methods that ease programming education. PortuJava allows the conversion of code written in Portugol into Java, addressing syntax and language differences often encountered by students when using professional languages. The tool is presented as a web page, developed with the Angular framework, and integrates the JDoodle IDE Plugin for Java code visualization and execution. Initial results, obtained through a questionnaire, indicate that the tool is well-received by students, being highlighted as a practical solution for adapting to Java syntax and development within professional IDEs.
