Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between the conservation and restoration of real estate assets and their job market, focusing on graduates as well as public companies and institutions related to heritage, in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. Data was collected through questionnaires administered to companies, institutions, and course graduates. The aim, in regard to graduates, was to identify the number of active conservationists and restorers in the market, the total number of graduates with professional experience, whether those working in the field have additional education specifically in architecture or civil engineering, to analyze if they work as employees, contractors, or independent professionals, and whether they work in private companies, public institutions, or have their own business. Concerning the companies and public institutions, the research aims to identify whether they are familiar with the course, if they are aware of the capabilities and professional responsibilities of conservationists and restorers of real estate assets, whether they have had or currently have any conservationists and restorers of real estate assets as employees, and if they are interested in getting to know the professional in case of unfamiliarity. The research contributes to understanding the relationship between education in the conservation and restoration of real estate assets and its application in the business and institutional context, as well as to reflecting on strategies to strengthen the field and improve employment opportunities for graduates.
