Abstract
We know about the abundance of water on planet, but there is still a low percentage of reuse of treated water in Brazil and in the world. Every logistics company has the need to carry out maintenance on its assets, and the railway sector is no different, it has a great demand for water use in the area of washing tank wagons, a necessary and important step of its maintenance process. The objective of this dissertation was to evaluate potentialities and limitations of reuse of industrial effluents treated in a railway maintenance workshop. The path taken was divided into three chapters, seeking the greatest coverage and contribution on the subject, highlighting the potential of different forms and technologies for the reuse of industrial wastewater, paving the way for its use in the railway sector. In the end, the technical product was developed to establish guidelines and guidelines to standardize the maintenance processes of tank wagons, including the washing of wagons with the use of recycled water. Based on this, it is concluded that one of the biggest challenges encountered is to adapt the water quality necessary for each use within the different sectors of the railway, which are in the parameters necessary for their purposes. This indicates the importance and relevance of studies with this theme, which can serve as support for future work.
