Abstract
Sugarcane is among the Brazilian economic activities, presenting significant progress in the last decade. In order to improve the quality of the sugarcane field, pre-sprouted seedlings were developed in order to increase their longevity and obtain higher productivity. The objective of this work was to identify the best substrate for the production of sugarcane Pre-sprouted seedlings (MPB) through the mini-grinders. The experiment at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais - Campus Bambuí. In the experiment of production of MPB, originated from the buds cut in mini grinding wheels, a design (DIC) was used, being four treatments, each with 40 tubes, totaling 160 planted seedlings. In Treatment 1, the substrate was used as control; Treatment 2 was the banana tree's pseudostem, in Treatment 3 Substrate and Bioenergy; in Treatment 4 Substrate, pseudostem and Bioenergy. Variables evaluated were: root length, root weight, root dry weight; sheet length, sheet weight and sheet dry weight. The seedlings that most developed were those that contained substrate for their development (Treatment 1 and Treatment 3) due to their large porosity, consequently better absorption and development of the root and shoot.
