Abstract
This dissertation analyzes the relationship between Financial Education and Professional and Technological Education (EPT) from the perspective of didactic suitability. The central problem is: How can Financial Education contribute to the integral formation of high school students integrated into EPT? The research is justified by the importance of Financial Education in the integral formation of students. The general objective is to analyze how Financial Education in EPT is addressed in research carried out by institutions associated with the Professional and Technological Education Graduate Program (ProfEPT). The specific objectives are: to identify dissertations and academic products that address the theme of Financial Education in EPT; to examine how dissertations and products developed in ProfEPT address the integration of Financial Education in EPT; and to develop an E-book that explains the concepts of Financial Education, EPT, and didactic suitability. The investigation is qualitative and was carried out in three stages: (1) search for academic productions in ProfEPT, which resulted in 1613 dissertations (2018-2023), of which only 10 were directly related to the investigation context; (2) analysis of academic productions related to Financial Education; and (3) elaboration of an E-book as an educational product. The investigation revealed a significant gap in the integration of innovative elements in Financial Education, especially in the context of EPT. The developed E-book presents seven proposals for activities to work on Financial Education from the perspective of the Development of Democratic Values and Critical Thinking component. Finally, it is expected that this dissertation and the educational product that emerges from it will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and effective practices in Financial Education, promoting the importance of including this theme in the Mathematics curricula of EPT, and inspiring future research that addresses the relationship between Financial Education and the integral formation of EPT network students.
