Abstract
The study of ergonomics applied to industrial activities has become an increasing concern among companies, governments, and society, especially after the implementation of Regulatory Standard 17 (NR-17), which aims to adapt working conditions to the psychophysiological characteristics of workers. This study aimed to assess, based on the concepts of ergonomics incorporated within organizations, the influence of the work environment on the productivity of production systems, through the analysis of scientific articles related to the topic, extracted from the Google Scholar platform. The research was conducted with a search protocol using descriptors such as "ergonomics" and "productivity," with a temporal limitation of publications from the last five years. Data collection took place on March 29, 2024, resulting in the selection of six articles that underwent a refinement process, during which exclusion criteria were applied. The methodology adopted in the selected studies was predominantly qualitative, and content analysis was used to create the analysis categories. The main categories defined were: 1) identification of ergonomic parameters that impact productivity; 2) benefits of ergonomic factors for both workers' health and companies' productivity; and 3) the importance of ergonomic techniques for process improvement, considering the consequences of human inefficiency and discomfort in the work environment. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to identify a range of ergonomic factors that directly influence productivity, such as temperature, lighting, noise, vibration, physical arrangement, stability, rewards, human relations, and social support. This study highlights the need for managers to develop an organizational culture that considers ergonomic factors and adapts the work environment to the specific tasks performed, to promote both workers' well-being and increased productivity. It is concluded that the integration of ergonomics into organizational management is crucial for maximizing efficiency and creating healthier and more productive work environments.
