Abstract
This work aims to present the development and implementation of an emergency electric power generation system in a church, using a gasoline generator set integrated with an automatic transfer system. The proposal arose from the need to meet the requirements of the Fire Department and the Brazilian Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the installation of an emergency lighting and fire protection system, ensuring the continuity of the temple’s activities without compromising its architectural structure. The methodology involved the sizing and installation of the generator set, the integration of the automatic transfer controller and transfer switch, as well as the development of an electrical panel in accordance with the requirements of Regulatory Standard No. 10 (NR-10). The system was configured to automatically perform starting, shutdown, and load transfer functions between power sources. Adaptations were made to the generator set, including the installation of a temperature sensor, an automatic choke actuator, and a communication connector. The results obtained demonstrated stable and efficient operation of the system, ensuring continuous power supply in the event of public grid failure.
