Abstract
The teaching profession, essential for social development, faces challenges that compromise the health and satisfaction of educators, highlighting Quality of Work Life (QWL) as a determining element for the effectiveness of the educational system. In this context, this study investigated the factors affecting the quality of life and health of teachers, analyzing how the application of Quality Management principles can foster a healthier and more valued work environment. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic research was conducted through a literature review of publications between 2020 and 2025, sourced from the SciELO and Google Scholar databases. The analysis revealed that psychosocial stressors, ergonomic risks, and career precarity were the primary factors for the decline in quality of life and the consequent development of occupational illnesses among teachers. It was concluded that Quality Management offers a strategic approach to enhance QWL, as valuing human capital, improving working conditions, and promoting participative leadership are concrete actions that can reverse the trend of illness, serving as a basis for decisions aimed at creating a more sustainable and effective educational system.
