Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different phytosanitary treatments in controlling corn leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis) in the hybrid cultivar DKB356, with the goal of reducing infestation and preserving the productive potential of the crop in the municipality of Bambuí-MG, Brazil. A randomized block design experiment was carried out, with five treatments and five replications. Agronomic characteristics such as ear insertion height, number of kernels per row, number of rows per ear, thousand-kernel weight, yield, and severity of stunt diseases were evaluated. Results showed that although most variables did not differ significantly among treatments, the integrated management strategy (treatment 4) stood out with higher averages for thousand-kernel weight and yield. These findings highlight that integrated management strategies can mitigate the negative impacts of corn leafhopper, contributing to greater productive stability and sustainability of corn production. Further complementary studies are recommended to confirm the effectiveness of the evaluated treatments and to improve local phytosanitary management practices.
