Abstract
Corn cultivation (Zea mays L.) occupies a prominent place in Brazilian agriculture, being one of the country's main crops. Its versatility allows for its widespread use in human and animal nutrition, as well as in industry, consolidating its economic and social importance. Within the genetic diversity of the species, landraces stand out as an alternative crop for small producers due to their hardiness and genetic conservation potential. In this context, ensuring the physiological quality of these seeds over time remains a challenge, especially when they are subjected to chemical treatments and subsequent storage. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of seed treatment with fungicides based on METALAXIL-M and FLUDIOXONIL (Maxim® XL), at different storage periods (0, 30, 60, and 90 days). The experiment was conducted at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG), Bambuí Campus, using a randomized block design with five replicates. The Cara-de-velho variety used was used. Seedling emergence percentage (%E), mean emergence time (MT), emergence speed index (IVE), coefficient of temporal variation (CVt), uncertainty index (I), and synchrony index (Z) were evaluated. The results were subjected to analysis of variance and means were compared using the Tukey test at a 5% probability level. It was concluded that the treatment did not interfere with seed emergence during a storage period of up to 30 days.
