Terminalidade específica no IFMG: um estudo sobre os desafios e possibilidades na certificação de estudantes com necessidades educacionais específicas.

Abstract

This study investigates Specific Terminality certification, aimed at meeting the needs of students with specific educational needs who have not reached the required level of schooling for the completion of the courses they have chosen to undertake. Certification is currently a legal possibility, and this research aims to analyze the challenges and possibilities of applying Specific Terminality for Students with Specific Educational Needs at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG). The study used bibliographic-documentary research, analyzing legal documents dealing with Specific Terminality and its application, guided by a qualitative approach. To understand the research objectives, a focus group was conducted with the participation of IFMG campus staff, based on dialogue among participants to gather information through the debate on the research theme, regarding the challenges and possibilities in the application of Specific Terminality at IFMG. The study was analyzed using Bardin's content analysis. It is an applied research that resulted in an Instagram account. The profile is named @terminalidadeespecifica and aims to clarify the challenges and possibilities in the application of ST, as well as what it is and how the process is planned until its application in this federal institute. The research results suggest the need for clear and comprehensive guidelines to guide the practice of Specific Terminality. The main findings revealed that the practice of ST aims to ensure a consistent and inclusive approach for all students. It also emphasizes the importance of conducting further studies on students certified by Specific Terminality to assess the long-term impact of this educational approach, as well as to inform the development of more effective policies and practices to promote inclusion and success of students with specific educational needs.
