Abstract
Animal welfare has become a central concern in broiler production, especially in pre-slaughter and slaughter management stages. This study presents a systematic review of poultry management practices in Brazil, analyzing their compliance with current regulations and identifying opportunities for improvement to promote sustainability and quality in poultry production. The research addresses fundamental concepts of animal welfare, the impacts of farming and transportation conditions on meat quality, and the challenges in implementing more humane techniques in the industry. The importance of strategies that balance production efficiency with ethical animal welfare principles is highlighted, ensuring benefits for both the industry and consumers.
