Lettuce is one of the main leafy vegetables worldwide known and of great importance in the population's diet. Irrigations for lettuce crop should be performed frequently throughout its development cycle due to its requirement in water. With the advancement of technology and the need for information to be optimized for agricultural processes, the use of remote monitoring is becoming increasingly used in precision agriculture. Thus, the present work aimed to evaluate the productivity of lettuce crop, grown in open environment, using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to detect water requirement and irrigation intervals through the spectral response of the crop. The experiment was carried out in the Olericulture sector of the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais - IFMG Câmpus Bambuí, using the Solaris lettuce cultivar at 30 cm x 30 cm spacing. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 4 replications and 5 treatments, totaling 20 experimental units. The treatments were characterized by irrigation intervals, T1: Daily Irrigation (Witness); T2: <80% Water Sufficiency Index (ISA); T3: <70% ISA; T4: <60% ISA; T5: <50% ISA. The following variables were evaluated: head diameter, shoot fresh mass, leaf numbers, shoot dry matter, shoot height, chlorophyll content and yield. Variable data were subjected to analysis of variance with the F test and regression analysis at a significance level of 5% probability. All the analyzed variables were influenced by the irrigation intervals adopted in this work determined by the proposed Water Sufficiency Index, being the best treatment the daily irrigation with a fixed 5mm blade for lettuce crop. The use of unmanned aerial vehicle with coupled camera that captures in the visible region was not efficient for the management of irrigation for lettuce crop from plant reflectance.
