Abstract
This study aims to develop a feeding management manual for horses, focusing on providing adequate nutrition according to the species' physiological and nutritional requirements. A comprehensive literature review was conducted, addressing topics such as digestive physiology, nutritional demands by category, feeding behavior, forage selection supplementation, and environmental and sanitary factors influencing feeding practices. The manual compiles practical and updated information, presented in accessible language, to assis technicians, students, and rural producers in making informed decisions related to equine nutrition. By covering balanced feed supply, access to clean water, sanitary management o facilities, and body condition scoring, this material seeks to improve equine welfare performance, longevity, and productivity across different life stages and production systems.
