Abstract
Brazil is the world leader in passion fruit production. However, small and medium-sized Brazilian farmers face problems related to the low quality of seedlings used to establish their orchards and often intensive cultivation practices. Therefore, it is interesting to develop and use techniques to obtain vigorous seedlings that generate profitable orchards, in addition to contributing to the promotion of sustainability and appreciation of family farming. The objective of this study was to establish the best dose of biostimulant based on the algae Lithothamnium calcareum for the production of BRS Gigante Amarelo passion fruit seedlings. The design was randomized blocks, and the experiment consisted of 4 treatments at doses of 3, 6, 9 and 12 mL/L of biostimulant in continuous floating and the control group containing only nutrient solution. The following parameters were evaluated: number of leaves, length of the third leaf, seedling height, fresh and dry mass of roots and shoots, root length, total sugar content, phenolic compounds and leaf nutrients. The 6 mL/L dose of the product was more efficient up to 20 days after transplanting, contributing to height, length of the third leaf and increased phenolic indices up to the 13th day of transplanting, as well as to increased sugar levels in the shoots and roots at 31 DAT. It was also responsible for greater agronomic efficiency in the accumulation of nutrients such as Ca, N, Zn, Mn and Fe. The 3 mL/L dose showed better results for height and length of the third leaf evaluated after 20 days of transplanting, in addition to promoting greater agronomic efficiency for the assimilation of B, S, P, K and Mg at 31 DAT. For sugar accumulation in the shoots, this dose was better up to the 13th day of transplanting. Therefore, we recommend the use of the Ultra Litho Max product for the production of BRS Gigante Amarelo passion fruit seedlings due to its beneficial effects related to the development, precocity, quality and nutrition of the seedlings.
