Abstract
With the increase in the consumption of poultry products that occurred throughout the evolution and population growth, it was necessary to develop techniques and implement equipment that were capable of meeting the demand of the poultry sector, where the consumption of chicken meat stands out mainly. In poultry farming, standards and an evolution of facilities and equipment involve more efficient management of chickens and a higher production rate in the sector. One of the most important factors during this management is controlling the temperature of the environment, which is carried out through the use of equipment such as heaters, exhaust fans and evaporative plates, in order to guarantee the correct growth of the animals and minimize losses. This work aims to present how temperature control is carried out in a poultry farm and also a case study regarding an extremely important component in the thermal cycle, the wood heater. This case study consists of evaluating the corrective maintenance applied to the heater of a poultry farm, where the original heat transfer tubes of its manufacture, which were found to have variations due to oxidation and consequently rupture, were replaced by new tubes of different materials and dimensions. different and present the data and impacts before and after the changes made.
